Leslie Rahye's By Land, Air or Sea--Steampunk Inspired Transportation Blog Hop - May 8, 2013

Welcome to
fun hop hosted by the the lovely and talented

THEME
Steampunk inspired transportation!!
This ones all about things that go...by land or air or sea...with a steampunk twist of course!

This is coinciding with National Transportation Month and Train Day!

I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to
create a masculine mixed media frame for
the men of the house
I built the train from scratch based on
images I found on the world wide web (in the Transformer voice)
using a paper towel roll

INGREDIENTS
Michael's square wood frame (clearance)
Mod Podge Matte & Gesso
Tim Holtz Dies- Gears, key hole, and boarder Gears

Lindys' Stamp Gang Spray - Moon Shadow Mist Treasure Island
Tsukineko - Walnut Inks - Java
Tissue Paper
Mulberry flowers
Hot Glue
Foil tape
Rub-n-Buff - Silver leafing
heavy twine

STEP1 - Mod Podge entire frame with tissue paper let dry (be generous)
STEP2 - Mod Podge all elements on top of dried tissue paper (be generous)
STEP4 - Use your hot glue gun to add demention to your project
STEP5 - Gesso entire frame and all elements - let dry
STEP6 - Use your sprays and let dry (use heat gun to speed the process)
STEP5 - Use your fingers and add rub-n-buff or any metallic type paints or ink pad to highlight

Enjoy the rest of  hop and be
INSPIRED!

OMG, Jess, this is fabulous. I want to learn this technique so much, and you have certainly inspired me to give it a try. I don't think I would ever have come up with your train idea, but I sure would like to borrow it to make one for myself. :) Thanks for sharing your wonderful project.
