PCW TERRIFIC TUESDAY - Gobble 'til U Wobble Turkey

Welcome to
Hosted by Melinda of My Paper Crafting

Decided to make this layout with the entire
family (excluding me b/c I am taking the pic)
My abuelita (grandma or nana)
is getting older and rather than
transporting abuelita everywhere everyone
comes and gathers at her place

When she hears everyone talking and children screaming
and chasing each other I have
noticed that she is content

The house is full and good
vibrations floating all around
I like to keep it this way...

Creative Paperclay® Fall Jewelry

Hello Everyone
I am excited to be a new design team member at
 Creative Paperclay®
I can only say is this stuff is amazing!
Easy to work with and light as a feather.
Decided to make some fall jewelry
Although all autumn colors are
rich in reds, browns, and golds
I had to add my little twist of colors to the mix.

FALL JEWELRY

 This embossing press rocks
I  had extra Creative Paperclay® in my hands
so I just filled the rest for a future project

I love that mine are not always smooth and clear details
but you can see the splits and missed filled parts - gives it character
Although I did not take pictures
of all the painting that went into this project
I encourage you to use any all paints and mixers your heart desires
Loving Terri Sproul's Mixers

INGREDIENTS
Lisa Pavelka Embossing Cutters - Ivy Leaf
Jaquard Lumiere Acrylic Paints - burnt orange, metallic rust, citrine
Chain - Joann's or Michael's

DAY OF THE DEAD - DIA DE LOS MUERTOS - TRAVELING SHRINE

Hello Everyone
Sharing some of my Mexican culture and traditions
with you today
Day of the Dead
(Spanish: Día de los Muertos)
is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it is a national holiday, and all banks are closed. The celebration takes place on November 1 and 2, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skullsmarigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased.
Scholars trace the origins of the modern Mexican holiday to indigenous observances dating back hundreds of years and to an Aztecfestival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl. The holiday has spread throughout the world: In BrazilDia de Finados is a public holiday that many Brazilians celebrate by visiting cemeteries and churches. In Spain, there are festivals and parades, and, at the end of the day, people gather at cemeteries and pray for their dead loved ones. Similar observances occur elsewhere in Europe, and similarly themed celebrations appear in many Asian and African cultures.

I created this shrine for a
Altered Tin swap I participated in September.
