CWC/PCW - Let's All Fly High - August 21st

Welcome

Today we are pay attribute to all the aviators in the air.
Whether flying
personal
commercial
entertainment
serving our county
It takes a lot of courage and passion to do what they do.

The Air and Water Show took place in Chicago this past weekend.  Unfortunately we had previous plans so this year we were not able to go.  I will make it my business to go next year with the kiddos.  We live near a small airport in Indiana so we had the privilege of seeing the Blue Angels practice above our homes and boy to feel the after blast and sonic boom of their plane gave me a rush!
I have the next generation of cousins to capture moments.

Majority of boys
love to jump off anything and everything
too see how high they could touch the sky
and how it would feel to fly.
I know
I have a son at home.
 The higher the better!

Ricardo took a pic of his son Caleb bursting out of his suit with the “S” on his chest wanting to fly and save the day.  This was probably the best thing I could get to flying.
I hope you like it.

created a boarder with the bears

added a AWI- wobble

sorry it's blurred took with camera phone

CWC/PCW - HISPANIC HERITAGE

Welcome to

Roots of the Hispanic heritage
in America stretch from
the Caribbean to California
and back more than 500 years
Mexico, Central America, South America
California, New York, Florida
Cuba, Dominican Republic
and Puerto Rico

United States began celebrating in 1988
September 15th - October 15th
September 15 was chosen as the starting point for the celebration because it is the anniversary of independence of five Latin Americancountries: Costa RicaEl SalvadorGuatemalaHonduras and Nicaragua. They all declared independence in 1821. In addition, Mexico,Chile and Belize celebrate their independence days on September 16, September 18, and September 21, respectively."
Hispanic Heritage Month also celebrates the long and important presence of Hispanic Americans in North America. A map of late 18th century North America shows this presence, from the small outpost of San Francisco founded in the desolate wilderness of Alta California in 1776, through the Spanish province of Texas with its vaqueros (cowboys), to the fortress of St. Augustine, Florida — the first continuous European settlement in North America, founded in 1565, decades before Jamestown, Virginia.
Spanish explorers traveled further north along the Pacific Coast to Canada in 1774 and by the late 18th century had established a military post on Vancouver Island, 350 miles north of Seattle. The Spanish sailed up the Atlantic Coast through the Chesapeake Bay in 1526, then called the Bahía de Santa María, about 80 years before the romanticized English encounter with Pocahontas. In the 1520s Spanish navigators also explored as far north as Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the present site of Bangor, Maine. The Spanish settled the future southwestern United States in the 16th century and officially founded Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1610.
As part of the Treaty of Paris (1763) peace settlement of the French and Indian War, the territories west of the Mississippi River, including Louisiana and New Orleans, were ceded to the Spanish. Nearly all of the surviving 18th century architecture of the Vieux Carré French Quarter in the latter city dates from this Spanish period

Our culture is rich with
music, food, style, and family traditions

I choose a picture of my little cousin Lucero
when she was 3 years old
taken in Mexico
I love the pure innocence of  her look
the crisp clean white dress
delicately laced and ruffled
